Power surges can wreak havoc on your home’s electrical system. A surge, whether caused by lightning strikes, power outages, or faulty wiring, can lead to significant damage. Sensitive electronics like computers, televisions, and home appliances can be easily damaged, rendering them useless and leaving you with expensive repair or replacement costs.
Even smaller, more frequent surges — often caused by power outages or issues with the electrical grid — can gradually damage your electronics and appliances over time. These surges shorten the lifespan of your devices and can lead to costly repairs or replacements. In short, a power surge can turn a good day into a very expensive one.

Kudos and five stars to Marco N. and RiteWay!Posted on Alexis StraussTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We own a 720 square foot mobile home. We wanted to install a split system, with existing vents. No vent work required. No electrical work required either. They had a “project manager” aka sales person come out to give us a quote. She was lovely and I really liked her and I know this isn’t her pricing. They quoted us $24,000 for a split system for a 720 square foot mobile home with existing vents and electrical already done. To put this in perspective- a nice split system unit is 3-4k. That means they want $20-21k in labor. Let’s say they send out 3 people and it takes 10 hours, that’s $700 an hour per worker. I work in the HVAC field, so I’m qualified when I say that you’re a HVAC technician not a brain surgeon. $700 an hour is absolutely bonkers. Then they say: well we have a great warranty! If you are paying $20k in labor then you’re actually paying for the warranty, it’s just wrapped up in a bow presented as “free” and “a courtesy”. I had two people tell me RiteWays pricing was outrageous prior to me getting the quote, I should’ve believed them LOLPosted on Matt HazeltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thomas was a great worker and had great customer service skillsPosted on Valerie VinyardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ahmad was prompt, friendly and meticulous. I liked the care he took with my systems.Posted on Sherri FournierTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Big surprise to see water pouring out from my water heater when I woke up. I called Rite Way first thing and they sent me someone within a half hour. Within 3 hours I have a new water heater installed. This could have been an absolutely disaster but, thank god, Rite Way came to the rescue.
A whole-home surge protector functions as a dedicated defense system for your entire electrical system. Installed professionally near your breaker box, it diverts harmful surges away from your electronics. When a surge occurs, the surge protector safely deflects the excess electricity down to the ground, preventing it from reaching your outlets and damaging your devices.
Compared to standard power strips with surge protection capabilities, our whole-home surge protectors in Tucson, AZ, offer a significantly higher level of defense. Power strips provide localized protection for the devices plugged directly into them, but they don’t safeguard your entire electrical system.
Installing a home surge protector can provide you with peace of mind. So, whether you’re working from home, watching your favorite TV show, or running the dishwasher, you can trust that everything will be safe and sound.
Are you ready to shield your electronics and appliances from unforeseen power surges? Here at Rite Way, our licensed electricians can expertly install a whole-home surge protector in your place of residence.

The effects of a power surge can vary depending on the severity of the surge and the specific electronics involved. In some cases, a powerful surge can fry circuits, corrupt data, or completely destroy appliances.
Most whole-home surge protectors should be replaced every three to five years. This will usually depend on the surge activity in your area and the quality of the protector itself. It’s important to consult the manufacturer’s recommendations for your specific model. Some surge protectors have indicator lights that will let you know when it’s time for replacement.
When choosing a whole home surge protector, look for features like a high joule rating, which indicates the energy absorption capacity, and response time, which shows how quickly the protector reacts to surges. Also, make sure it’s designed to fit your home’s specific electrical setup.
A whole home surge protector is installed at your electrical panel and protects your entire home, while a power strip surge protector only safeguards the devices plugged into it. At Rite Way, our whole-home surge protectors in Tucson, AZ, offer comprehensive protection for your electronic equipment, whereas power strips provide limited coverage.
Power surges can be a fire hazard. While an electrical surge itself wouldn’t directly ignite a fire, it can damage electrical wiring or overload circuits. This damage can cause excessive heat buildup within your walls, which can eventually lead to a spark or fire if left unchecked. Installing a whole-home surge protector in your Tucson home can prevent this by diverting surges away from your wiring, keeping your electrical system safe, and reducing the risk of electrical fires.
